Home conditions are "closed" for 12 hours leading up to the test and during the entire test period (all windows and doors stay closed with the exception of normal entry and exit; window air conditioners, swamp coolers and whole house fans remain off).
I place my continuous radon monitor in your home per EPA guidelines. The test period for short term test (most common in real estate transactions) is a minimum of 48 hours.
I will have a easy to read, computer generated report to you at the end of the testing period. This report can be used to determine the need to fix the home to meet EPA guidelines.
Radon is a radioactive gas. It comes from the natural decay of uranium that is found in nearly all soils. It typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Your home traps radon inside, where it can build up. Any home may have a radon problem. This means new and old homes, well-sealed and drafty homes, and homes with or without basements.
Radon is the number one cause of lung cancer among non-smokers, according to the EPA. Overall, radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer. Radon is responsible for about 21,000 lung cancer deaths every year.
Testing your house for radon is easy. If your
house has a radon problem, it can be fixed.
Fixing a radon problem reduces the risk of lung
cancer for you and your family.
A simple test will tell you if your home has a
high radon level. I can professionally test your home and have results back to you in 48 hours. I use state of the art continuous radon monitors which will give you accurate information on your home's condition. Please check the links below for further information on radon.
